To the River Of Jordan our Savior went one day
And we read that John The Baptist met Him there
And when John baptized Jesus in Jordan's rushing waters
The mighty power of God filled the air

I'm on my way to the River Of Jordan
Gonna wade right in to the rushing waters
I'm going down, I'm going down to the River Of Jordan
And let the cool waters cleanse my soul

King Naaman was stricken with dreaded leprosy
And he sent for the man of God to pray
But Elisha said to Naaman "go dip yourself in Jordan"
And let the cool waters wash your spots away

So he went right down to the River Of Jordan
He waded right in the rushing waters
He dipped himself, he dipped himself in the River Of Jordan
And the cool waters made him whole

The River Of Jordan is many miles away
And this mighty river I may never see
But I'll find myself an altar in an old-fashioned church
And my River of Jordan, that will be

Well, I'm on my way to the River Of Jordan
Gonna wade right in to the rushing waters
I'm going down, I'm going down to the River Of Jordan
And let the cool waters cleanse my soul........

Tempted and tried, we're oft made to wonder
Why it should be thus all day long
While there are others living about us
Never molested though in the wrong

When death has come and taken our loved ones
It leaves our home so lonely and drear
Then do we wonder why others prosper
Living so wicked year after year

[Chorus]
Further along we'll know all about it
Further along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother, live in the sunshine
We'll understand it all, by and by

Faithful 'till death, said our loving Master
A few more days to labor and wait
Toils of the road will then seem as nothing
As we sweep through the beautiful gates

[Chorus]
Further along we'll know all about it
Dolly Parton with the gospel song "Power In The Blood". Songwriter was Lewis E. Jones who made this song back in 1899.

Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There's pow'r in the Blood, pow'r in the Blood;
Would you o'er evil a victory win?
There's wonderful pow'r in the Blood.

There is pow'r, pow'r, wonder-working pow'r
In the Blood of the Lamb;
There is pow'r, pow'r, wonder-working pow'r
In the precious Blood of the Lamb.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There's pow'r in the Blood, pow'r in the Blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide;
There's wonderful pow'r in the Blood.

Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?
There's pow'r in the Blood, pow'r in the Blood;
Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow;
There's wonderful pow'r in the Blood.

Would you do service for Jesus your King?
There's pow'r in the Blood, pow'r in the Blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There's wonderful pow'r in the Blood.Donald Alfred Collinshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15729681499724856424noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5915419311648748469.post-39877259755923280832019-03-17T00:00:00.000-06:002019-03-17T00:00:03.367-06:00Sunday Morning Mountain Gospel Music 234

Precious mem'ries, unseen angels
Sent from somewhere to my soul
How they linger, ever near me
As the sacred past unfold.

Precious mem'ries, how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious, sacred scenes unfold.

As I travel on life's pathway
I know not what the years may hold
And as I ponder, hope grows fonder
Precious mem'ries floods my soul.

Precious mem'ries how they linger
How they ever flood my soul
In the stillness of the midnight
Precious, sacred scenes unfold...
On Route 23, down in Eastern Kentucky
A school bus wrecked there in the County of Floyd
It left many parents a weepin and mournin
It took away the lives of their little girls and boys

These little school children have gone on to Glory
No lessons to study, no worries or cares
They're now rejoicing and walking with Jesus
They won't have to ride on a school bus up there

God please watch over these heartbroken families
Give them the courage to go on alone
Show them the right way that leads up to Heaven
Where once more the family will all be at Home
All the happy golden days.
Yes, we'll gather at the river,
The beautiful, beautiful river;
Gather with the saints at the river
Ere we reach the shining river,
Lay we every burden down;
Grace our spirits will deliver,
And now that she has gone to Heaven I miss her tender care
O Savior tell my mother I'll be there

Tell mother I'll be there in answer to her prayer
This message Blessed Savior to her bear
Tell mother I'll be there Heaven's joys with her to share
Yes tell my darling mother I'll be there

Though I was often wayward she was always kind and good
So patient gentle loving when my ways were rough and rude
My childhood grief's and trials she would gladly with me share
O Savior tell my mother I'll be there

One day a message came to me it bade me quickly come
If I would see my mother ere the Savior took her home
I promised her before she died for heaven to prepare
O Savior tell my mother I'll be there

Tell mother I'll be there in answer to her prayer
This message Blessed Savior to her bear
Tell mother I'll be there Heaven's joys with her to share
Kneel at the Cross, Christ will meet you there
Come while He waits for you
Listen to His voice, leave with Him your cares
And begin life anew

Kneel at the Cross, kneel at the Cross
Leave every care, leave every care
Kneel at the Cross, kneel at the Cross
Jesus will meet you there

Kneel at the Cross, there is room for all
Who would His Glory share
Bliss there awaits, harm can ne'er befall
Those who are anchored there

Kneel at the Cross, kneel at the Cross
Leave every care, leave every care
Kneel at the Cross, kneel at the Cross
Jesus will meet you there

Kneel at the Cross, give your idols up
Look unto realms above
Turn not away to life's sparkling cup
Trust only in His love
Kneel at the Cross, kneel at the Cross
Leave every care, leave every care
Kneel at the Cross, kneel at the Cross

In the Bible we read of a city
With streets that are paved with pure gold
We will live in that city, forever
And there we shall never grow old.

CHORUS
In Heaven we'll never grow old
In Heaven we'll never grow old
We will live in that city, forever
And there we shall never grow old.

In the Bible we read of a river
That runs by the Throne, we are told
We will drink of the life-giving waters
And there we shall never grow old.

CHORUS

Then we read of the earth's weary pilgrims
Who have lived here thru hunger an cold
They've at last reached their harbor in saftey
And there they shall never grow old.

CHORUS
I'm using my Bible for a road map
The children of Israel used it too
They crossed the Red Sea of destruction
For God was there to see them safely through

There'll be no detours in Heaven
No rough roads along the way
I'm using my Bible for a road map
My last stop is Heaven some sweet day

I'm using my Bible for a road map
Ten Commandments tell me what to do
The twelve disciples are my road signs
And Jesus will take me safely through
There'll be no detours in heaven
No rough roads along the way
Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father's throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.

In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter's snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
The joys I feel, the bliss I share,
Of those whose anxious spirits burn
With strong desires for thy return!

With such I hasten to the place
Where God my Savior shows His face,
And gladly take my station there,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless.

And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I'll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!...
What a Friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations
Is there trouble anywhere
We should be never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Are we weak and heavy laden
Cumbered with a load of care
Precious Savior still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise forsake thee
Take it to the Lord in Prayer
In his arms he'll take and shield thee

I have heard of a land on a faraway strand
'Tis a beautiful home of the soul
Lord it's built by Jesus on high, but there's where we'll never, never die
'Tis a land where we'll never grow old

Never grow old, never grow old
In a land where we'll never grow old
Never grow old, never grow old
In a land where we'll never grow old

In that beautiful home where we'll never more roam
We shall be in the sweet by and by
Happy praise to the king through eternity sing
'Tis the land where we never shall die

Never grow old, never grow old
In a land where we'll never grow old
Never grow old, never grow old
In a land where we'll never grow old

Lord, when our work here is done and the life crown been won
And our troubles and all our trials are o'er
All our sorrow will end our voices will blend
With the loved ones who've gone on before

Never grow old, never grow old
In a land where we'll never grow old
Never grow old, where never grow old
In a land where we'll never grow old........

Let it be Christmas everywhere
In the hearts of all people both near and afar
Christmas everywhere
Feel the love of the season wherever you are
On the small country roads lined with green mistletoe
Big city streets where a thousand lights glow

Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
Let it be Christmas
Christmas everywhere

Let it be Christmas everywhere
With the gold and silver, the green and the red
Christmas everywhere
In the smiles of all children asleep in their beds
In the eyes of young babies their first fallen snow
Elderly¹s memories that never grow old

Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year
Let it be Christmas
Christmas everywhere

Let it be Christmas everywhere
In the songs that we sing and the gifts that we bring
Christmas everywhere
In what this day means and what we believe
From the sandy white beaches where blue water rolls
Snow covered mountains and valleys below

Let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let every heart sing let every bell ring
The story of hope and joy and peace
And let it be Christmas everywhere
Let heavenly music fill the air
Let anger and fear and hate disappear
Let there be love that lasts through the year

Oh Holy Night, the stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth

A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, oh hear the angels' voices
Oh Night Divine, Oh night when Christ was born
Oh Night Divine, Oh Night, Oh Night Divine

Led by the light, of a faith serenely beaming
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand
So led by a light of a star sweetly gleaming
Here came the wise men from the Orient land

The King of Kings lay in lowly manger
With all our trials, born to be our friend
He knows our needs, to our weakness no stranger
BEHOLD YOUR KING, Before the lowly bend
BEHOLD YOUR KING, YOUR KING, BEFORE HIM BEND

A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angels' voices
Oh Night Divine, Oh Night when Christ was born
Oh Night Divine, Oh Night, Oh Night Divine
Till the Lord will come and call, call me away, oh yes
Well, the morning's so bright and the lamb is the light
And the night, night is as black as the sea, oh yes

There will be peace in the valley for me, someday
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow, oh my Lord and no trouble, I'll see
There will be peace in the valley for me

Oh well, the bear will be gentle and the wolf will be tame
And the lion shall lay down by the lamb, oh yes
And the beast from the wild will be led by a child
And I'll be changed, changed from this creature that I am, oh yes

There will be peace in the valley for me, some day
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow, oh my Lord and no trouble, I'll see
There will be peace in the valley for me

I can see the holly in the window
Decorations on the tree
Stockings hung by the fireplace
Hung there with tenderness and glee

Soon old santa will be coming
There'll be lots of presents neath the tree
Back home at this old fashion Christmas
The whole family will make it complete

Yes this time of year is rather special to me
When the snow whitens the mountains
The valleys and the trees
Memories form a picture in my mind from days of old
Of an old fashion Christmas
And the family together back at home

I can see my sisters and my brothers, John & Roy
Everyone so happy and all so full of joy
Daddy and mother admire each one of us so dear
And the children are playing together
And all of them so full of cheer

Yes this memory of home in my heart
Is a memory that time will never take away
Because it lives all over again each year on Christmas day

So let me say to you,
If you are home or faraway
I hope you'll have an old fashion Christmas
And a Happy New Year's Day
Soon old santa will be coming

Oh beautiful Star of Bethlehem
Shining afar through shadows dim
Giving a light for those who long have gone
And guiding the wise men on their way
Unto the place where Jesus lay

Oh beautiful Star of Bethlehem shine on (Shine On)
Oh beautiful Star (beautiful, beautiful Star) of Bethlehem (Bethlehem)
Shine upon us until the Glory dawns
Gives the light to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
Oh beautiful Star of Bethlehem, shine on (shine on)

Oh beautiful Star the hope of light
Guiding the pilgrims through the night
Over the mountains till the break of dawn (the dawn)
Into the light of perfect day
It will give out a lovely ray
Oh beautiful Star of Bethlehem shine on (shine on)

Oh beautiful Star (beautiful, beautiful Star) of Bethlehem (Bethlehem )
Shine upon us until the Glory dawns
Gives the light to light the way
Unto the land of perfect day
Oh beautiful star of Bethlehem shine on (shine on)

Oh, beautiful Star, the hope of rest
For the redeemed the good and blest
Yonder in Glory when the crown is won (is won)
For Jesus now that Star divine
Brighter and Brighter He will shine
Oh beautiful Star of Bethlehem shine on (shine on)

Oh beautiful Star (beautiful, beautiful Star) of Bethlehem (Bethlehem)
Shine upon us until the Glory dawns (glory dawn)
Give us the light to light the way unto the land of perfect day
Oh beautiful Star of Bethlehem shine on (shine on)

There's a place dear to me, where I'm longing to be
With my friends at the old country church
There with mother we went and our Sundays we spent
With our friends at the old country church

Precious years of memories
Oh, what joy they bring to me
How I long once more to be
With my friends at the old country church

How I wish that today all the people would pray
Like we prayed in that old country church
If they'd only confess, Jesus surely would bless
As He did in that old country church

Precious years of memories
Oh, what joy they bring to me
How I long once more to be
With my friends at the old country church...........
