Sunday Morning Mountain Gospel Music 33

Daniel Prayed
Sung by East Kentucky natives Ricky Skaggs from Cordell, Kentucky (Lawrence County) and Patty Loveless from Elkhorn City, Kentucky (Pike County)

Daniel Prayed

I heard about a man one day who wasted not his time away
He prayed to God every morning noon and night
He cared not for the things of man he trusted one who would not fail
Oh, Daniel prayed every morning, noon, and night

Oh, Daniel served the living God while here upon this earth he trod
He prayed to God every morning noon and night
He cared not for the kings decree he trusted God to set him free
Oh Daniel prayed every morning, noon, and night

They locked him in the lion's den because he would not honor men
But prayed to God every morning noon and night
The jaws were locked and it made him shout, and God soon got them
safely out.
Oh, Daniel prayed every morning, noon, and night

Oh, Daniel served the living God while here upon this earth he trod
He prayed to God every morning noon and night
He cared not for the kings decree he trusted God to set him free
Oh, Daniel prayed to God every morning, noon, and night

Now brother, let us watch and pray like Daniel did from day to day
He prayed to God every morning noon and night
We too can gladly daring do and pray that God will see us through
Oh, Daniel prayed every morning, noon, and night

Oh, Daniel served the living God while here upon this earth he trod
He prayed to God every morning noon and night
He cared not for the kings decree he trusted God to set him free
Oh Daniel prayed every morning, noon, and night

  1. Hello cousin Donald, I just stumbled upon this. Is this Carter family part of our family? I have a lot of 'Carter' matches on FTDNA and 23andMe, but my one lineage, via Delilah Carter of Rye Cove VA, isn't perfectly documented, it's mainly circumstantial.

  2. I have no information that our Collins line were kin to the Carter Family. With that said, in the early 1800's we were in the same area of Virginia as where the Carters lived. Rye Cove is in the same present day county, Scott Co. VA
