Johnson County Kentucky Flood

I was saddened to hear of the recent flood in Johnson County , Kentucky. As of  today there have been 3 deaths  and there are still 6 people missing. The worst of the flooding happened in the Flat Gap Community along Ramey Branch.

The Red Cross has opened a shelter at the Paintsville Recreation Center located at 232 Preston Street in Paintsville.

Pastor Jim Cole, of Harbor Light Worship Center, is also collecting donations: Washington Street; Stanton, Kentucky; (859) 404-7874

UPDATE: Here is a Go Fund Me page to help raise funds for a family who lost their home:

My Collins line has deep roots in Johnson County, they settled there before Johnson County was formed in 1843, when it was part of Floyd County.

I'm hoping readers of this blog will join me in praying for the families who have lost loved ones, the families who have loved ones missing, and all who have lost their homes in this flood.
