Correlate with Melungeon Names ?

I recently came across a posted article on another blog.....the MHA's blog, titled: "List of persons buried in Wildfork Indian Cemetery, lower Alabama (many names correlate with Melungeon names)". Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery aka Old Wildfork Indian Cemetery.

Here it the list of posted surnames: GRAVES, LAMBERT, MARTIN, KENNEDY, TIPPINS, EVANS, MORRIS, WHITE, LEE, MINCHEW, REED, BLOODSWORTH, DYESS, CHAVERS, HICKS, MELTON, LOWERY, BLOODSWORTH, STAHL, BRANNON, MARION, CHAVIS, McDONALD, ROBERTS, CARDEN, CHANCERY, OWENS, STEEL, ADAMS, INGRAM, CONWAY, BUCKHAULT, ODOM

 cor·re·late
verb
/kôrəˌlāt,ˈkärəˌlāt/
1. have a mutual relationship or connection, in which one thing affects or depends on another.

Many ? Well maybe if you believe Brent Kennedy's 'faux' fabricated  Melungeon surname list, that has been proven time and again to be pure rubbish. There are no historical Melungeon surnames on this list.

Correlate ? Maybe the writer should have shown the correlation with documented facts, instead of continuing to support 'myths'. Garbage in, garbage out.

There are 3 surnames on that list that might be of interest,  Chavers, Chavis, and Lowery. Chavis and Chavers are old Colonial Virginia mixed blood 'root surnames'. Lowery is a 'core' Lumbee surname. Neither are surnames of the historic Melungins. Melungins aren't Lumbee's and Lumbee's aren't Melungeons.

Where are the known well documented historical Melungin surnames on this list ? I don't see Bunch, Collins , Denham, Gibson, Goins, Mullins, Sexton or Williams on that list.

Maybe Mr. Christopher Scott Sewell should have provided more information with his post, instead of just a simple copy/paste.

This is another example of the MHA pushing their agenda that ALL mixed blood groups are 'Melungeons'. As it is stated on their website "documenting and preserving the history and cultural legacy of mixed ancestry peoples of the southern and eastern United States". The MHA's tactics in my opinion border on 'Cultural Marxism'

That's my 2 cents....
