My father was born in Weeksbury, Kentucky, a coal mine town in Floyd County , Kentucky. I have uncles that were born is coal towns in Johnson, Pike and Letcher Counties, Kentucky.
In 1925 my Great Grandfather moved all his children and their children to Lewis Co.,Kentucky from Johnson Co., Kentucky to get away from the coal mines and go back to farming.
Today the government is trying to shut down the coal industry of Eastern Kentucky. How's a man supposed to support a family if he can't work ?
